Choosing the right pair of shoes to wear on a certain event/day is very important, well at least for me. First, It must to be comfortable. I’m the type of person who always speedwalk. Second, It must be stylish or at least my choice of color and design.
On a daily basis - Mon to Sat, I spend most of my time working. I wake up early in the morning to work, usually go home so late (blame Edsa traffic). When I started working, flat shoes started to pile up in my closet and I find it more comfortable to spend my normal working day wearing ballet shoes than my heels & wedges. That’s why I thank the Shoe-Goddesses for inventing the foldable / rollable shoes. Supposedly, they are just spare pair of shoes where you can pop in your bag when you get tired of wearing heels, but I used them just like a normal shoes. 😁
This year, I finally found my new best friend to help me with my “on the go” schedules.
Meet my first pair of YOSI. 😍 The designer who has fans in Jessica Alba, Eva Longoria and Anne Hathaway and more here.
The moment I tried them on, I knew they were for keeps!

Cure the Blues
Happy new year again everyone! It just goes to show that I haven’t moved on yet with the happenings last month. I just came home late and saw a pile of boxes on the corner of the room which made me realized how blessed I am.
Why? First time in my 20+years of existence here on earth that I received more than 3 pairs of shoes for Christmas. Like, really? They all knew what I wanted to have?
Big deal for me because I love having new pair of shoes. It makes me happy that a pair can cure blues. Shoes give me that pleasurable feeling. They say, if you are a shoe-addict you can always make room for a new pair. I’m guilty as charged!
According to co-curator Dr. Valerie Steele, “They’re an intimate extension of the body and seem to say so much about our attitudes, aesthetics, sexuality and social status.” Sculptural quality, she added, is another part of the appeal. “Maybe it’s because shoes are sculptural. Clothing, when not worn, just lies there flat, lifeless. But shoes seem to have an autonomous quality, which may explain why our obsession with shoes seems to have reached new heights.”
"Shoes provide the foundation for the image that we want to broadcast to the world. We wear them as a way to play with aspects of our identity in a less committed way than any other visible marker such as a haircut or color. We can change that message every day or more if we choose. A pair or flats of Birkenstocks shows our groundedness, pumps tell the world we are all business and high leather boots declare toughness." (source)
Last Christmas 2013, I was so happy that I’ve got a total of 6new pairs. Awesome. Great start for the new year!
I will conquer whatever that’s in store for me this year with these shoes!
Enough of the B&W, below is a photo that shows true colors of the shoes.
- Christian Siriano, Rachel in marine wedges
- ALDO, Frilora wedges
- Sidekicks rollable ballet shoes
- KEDS, champion canvas in red
- ALDO, Dinkens
- Parisian, black open-toe flats
If you love shoes, you’ll understand why it’s the most loved part of any wardrobe. It’s hard to put to words why I love shoes. Another reason maybe, no matter how much you gain or lose, shoes will be always there for you!
